Transmission Fluid Inspection
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to vehicle Lifting.





2. Remove the transmission oil level/filler ping (2) from the transmission

Important: The oil level should be even with the bottom of the transmission oil level/filler plug (2) hole.

3. Inspect the transmission oil level.
4. If the oil level is low, adjust the oil level accordingly with GM Goodwrench Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid, (GM P/N 12346190 (Canadian P/N 10953477) or equivalent SAE 75W-90 GL-4 Gear Oil).





5. Apply GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent, to the threaded portion of the transmission oil level/filler plug (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Install the transmission oil level/filler plug (2) into the transmission.
^ Tighten the transmission oil level/filler plug (2) to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
7. Lower the vehicle.
