Tie Rod Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the rear axle tie rod bolts (1,3), the nut, and the washers.
3. Remove the rear axle tie rod (2).

Installation Procedure

Important: DO NOT tighten the fasteners before lowering the vehicle. The weight of the vehicle must be on the tires and wheels before tightening the fasteners.





1. Install the following components to the rear axle and to the vehicle body:
- The rear axle tie rod (2)
- The 2 washers
- The 2 bolts (1,3)
- The nut
2. Lower the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. With the weight of the vehicle on the tires and wheels, tighten the bolts (1,3).
- Tighten the bolts to 100 Nm (73.8 ft. lbs.).
