Rear Lower

Rear Axle Lower Control Arm - Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Use a floor jack in order to support the rear axle housing (1).





Important: Note the location and the position of the fasteners in order to aid the installation of the component.

3. Remove the front bolt (2) and the washer from the lower control arm (1).





4. Remove the following components from the rear axle housing (1):
- The nut (3)
- The washer
- The bolt
- The lower control arm (4)

Installation Procedure

Important: Install the fasteners in the original location and position. DO NOT tighten the fasteners before lowering the vehicle. The weight of the vehicle must be on the tires and wheels before tightening the fasteners.





1. Install the following components to the rear axle housing (1):
- The lower control arm (4)
- The bolt
- The washer
- The nut (3)





2. Install the following components to the frame:
- The lower control arm (1)
- The bolt (2)
- The washer
3. Remove the floor jack from the rear axle housing.
4. Lower the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. With the weight of the vehicle on the tires and wheels, tighten the lower control arm nuts and bolts.
- Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 100 Nm (73.8 ft. lbs.).
