Power Steering Gear Outlet Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any escaping fluid.

Important: The power steering gear outlet hose connects the steering gear to the power steering fluid reservoir inlet pipe.





2. Loosen the hose clamp (4) for the power steering gear outlet hose at the steering gear housing.

Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose (3) from the steering gear housing.





4. Loosen the hose clamp at the power steering reservoir inlet pipe (6).
5. Remove the power steering gear outlet hose (5) from the power steering reservoir inlet pipe.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the power steering gear outlet hose (5) and the hose clamp to the power steering reservoir inlet pipe (6).





2. Install the power steering gear outlet hose (3) and the hose clamp (4) to the steering gear.

Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Add power steering fluid to the reservoir.

Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Bleed the power steering system.
