Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.
NOTE: Refer to EVAP Carbon Particles Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the vapor hose (1) from the EVAP canister (2) by squeezing the connector as shown.
3. Disconnect the two hoses (1) from the EVAP canister (2).
4. Disconnect the electrical connector of the EVAP canister vent solenoid.
5. Remove the four fasteners and the EVAP canister bracket from the vehicle chassis.
6. Remove the EVAP canister from the bracket.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the EVAP canister to the bracket.
Install the canister and bracket to the vehicle chassis.
2. Secure the canister and bracket to the vehicle with the four fasteners.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
3. Connect the three hoses (1) to the EVAP canister (2).
4. Connect the electrical connector of the EVAP canister vent solenoid.
5. Lower the vehicle.
