Fan Clutch Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Safely Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fan/clutch assembly from the vehicle.





3. Remove the 4 fan clutch mounting bolts and separate the fan (3) from the clutch (4).
4. Inspect the fan for cracks and broken blades. Replace if necessary.
5. Inspect the fan clutch for cracks, binding and a worn bearing. Replace if necessary.

Installation Procedure





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the fan (3) to the clutch (4). Secure with the 4 bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
2. Install the fan/clutch assembly to the vehicle.
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
- Tighten the battery cable bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
