Rear Door Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the window outer sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
3. Remove the door weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Door Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the door window channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Channel Replacement).
5. Remove the door lock. Refer to Rear Door Lock Replacement (Without Power Locks) (Removal and Replacement)Rear Door Lock Replacement (With Power Locks) (Removal and Replacement).
6. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement).
7. Remove the door window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Without Power Windows) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Manual)Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (With Power Windows) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Power).




8. Remove the rear side door stationary window. Refer to Rear Side Door Stationary Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Remove the door check. Refer to Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement (Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement).
10. Remove the door molding. Refer to Rear Side Door Molding Replacement () in Exterior Trim.
11. Support the rear side door (2) using a floor jack (1) and piece of wood.
12. Mark the position of the door to the hinges in order to ease the installation process.
13. Remove the 4 bolts which secure the door to the hinges.
14. Position the door away from the door jamb in order to gain the necessary clearance to remove the rear side door wiring harness grommet, if equipped.




15. Unclip the plastic retainers which secure the rear side door wiring harness (3) to the rear side door, if equipped.
16. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (3) from the door, if equipped.
17. Remove any remaining retainers from the rear side door.
18. Remove the rear side door from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the retainers which were removed from the door.
2. Position the rear side door near the door jamb in order to install the rear side door wiring harness (3) to the door, if equipped.
3. Route the door wiring harness (3) through the door and seat the grommet, if equipped. Secure the wiring harness to the door with the plastic retainers.

4. Install the rear side door to the hinges. Align the matchmarks on the hinges in order to aid in the correct adjustment of the door. Secure the door to the hinges with the 4 bolts.

Tighten the rear side door hinge bolts to 27 Nm (19 lb ft).

5. Remove the floor jack (1) and the piece of wood from the door (2).
6. Install the door molding. Refer to Rear Side Door Molding Replacement () in Exterior Trim.
7. Install the door check. Refer to Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement (Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement).
8. Install the rear side door stationary window. Refer to Rear Side Door Stationary Window Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the door window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Without Power Windows) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Manual)Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (With Power Windows) (Rear Door Window Regulator - Power).
10. Install the door lock. Refer to Rear Door Lock Replacement (Without Power Locks) (Removal and Replacement)Rear Door Lock Replacement (With Power Locks) (Removal and Replacement).
11. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement).
12. Install the door window channel. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Channel Replacement).
13. Install the door weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Door Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair).
14. Install the window outer sealing strip. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Rear Side Door Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement).
15. Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
16. Adjust the rear side door striker, as needed. Refer to Rear Side Door Lock Striker Replacement (Rear Side Door Lock Striker Replacement)
