Front Side Door Replacement (Passenger Side)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Manual Mirror Replacement (Manual Mirror Replacement) or Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. Service and Repair
3. Remove the window outer sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the door weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the door window channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement).
6. Remove the door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Without Power Locks) (Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Without Power Locks))Front Side Door Lock Replacement (With Power Locks) (Front Side Door Lock Replacement (With Power Locks)).
7. Remove the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement (Door Lock Cylinder Replacement).
8. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Remove the door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair).




10. Remove the door check. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Remove the door molding. Refer to Front Side Door Molding Replacement () in Exterior Trim.
12. Remove the front fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Right Side (Front Fender Replacement - Right Side) in Body Front End.
13. Support the front side door (2) using a floor jack (1) and piece of wood.
14. Mark the position of the door to the hinges in order to ease the installation process.
15. Remove the 4 bolts which secure the door to the hinges.
16. Position the door away from the door jamb in order to gain the necessary clearance to remove the front side door wiring harness grommet, if equipped.




17. Unclip the plastic retainers which secure the front side door wiring harness (2) to the front side door, if equipped.
18. Release the door wiring harness grommet and unroute the wiring harness (2) from the door, if equipped.
19. Remove any remaining retainers from the front side door.
20. Remove the front side door from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the retainers which were removed from the door.
2. Position the front side door near the door jamb in order to install the front side door wiring harness (2) to the door, if equipped.
3. Route the door wiring harness (2) through the door and seat the grommet, if equipped. Secure the wiring harness to the door with the plastic retainers.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the front side door to the hinges. Align the matchmarks on the hinges in order to aid in the correct adjustment of the door. Secure the door to the hinges with the 4 bolts.

Tighten the front side door hinge bolts to 27 Nm (19 lb ft).

5. Remove the floor jack (1) and the piece of wood from the door (2).
6. Install the front fender. Refer to Front Fender Replacement - Right Side (Front Fender Replacement - Right Side) in Body Front End.
7. Install the door molding. Refer to Front Side Door Molding Replacement () in Exterior Trim.
8. Install the door check. Refer to Front Side Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Install the door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Install the door lock. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Without Power Locks) (Front Side Door Lock Replacement (Without Power Locks))Front Side Door Lock Replacement (With Power Locks) (Front Side Door Lock Replacement (With Power Locks)).
11. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Front Side Door Outside Handle Replacement (Service and Repair).
12. Install the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement (Door Lock Cylinder Replacement).
13. Install the door window channel. Refer to Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement (Front Side Door Window Channel Replacement).
14. Install the door weatherstrip. Refer to Front Side Door Weatherstrip Replacement (Service and Repair).
15. Install the window outer sealing strip. Refer to Front Side Door Window Belt Outer Sealing Strip Replacement (Service and Repair).
16. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. Service and Repair
17. Install the outside rearview mirror. Refer to Manual Mirror Replacement (Manual Mirror Replacement) or Power Mirror Replacement (Power Mirror Replacement).
18. Adjust the front side door striker, as needed. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Striker Replacement (Service and Repair)
