B3604

DTC B3604

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The electronic adjustable pedals (EAP) forward and rearward switches are inputs to the driver door module. The driver door module supplies the EAP switch assembly with a battery positive reference voltage. When the EAP switch is operated to the forward or rearward direction the forward or rearward switch signal circuit is closed to the reference voltage. In an active state the EAP forward or rearward switch signal circuit voltage is supplied to the driver door module through one of the 806 ohm resistors within the switch assembly. The resistors in the switch assembly enables the driver door module to recognize an invalid switch signal.

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The system voltage must be between 9.0-16.0 volts.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
- The driver door module sets a DTC B3604 when the EAP forward switch signal circuit is determined to be shorted to voltage or ground.
- The driver door module sets a DTC B3605 when the EAP rearward switch signal circuit is determined to be shorted to voltage or ground.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The EAP system will be disabled.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
- The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present.
- When the fault is no longer present the DTC will be a history status code.
- The history DTC will be cleared after 100 error free ignition cycles, or by using the scan tool clearing DTCs feature.

TEST DESCRIPTION

Steps 1-9:

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
3. This step tests the resistance through the EAP switch while in an active state.
4. This step tests the EAP switch signal circuit for a short to another circuit within the switch assembly while in an inactive state.
