Wheel Stud Replacement

Tools Required
^ J9746-02 Wheel Bearing Remover

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Raise the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Floor Jack Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.





3. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.

Notice: Refer to Brake Caliper Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Remove the front brake caliper.
5. Remove the hub/rotor.

Important: Do not damage the wheel mounting surface on the hub/rotor flange. Support the hub/rotor using the J9746-02 and the press bars.

6. Remove the wheel stud using a press.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the wheel hub stud in the rotor where the old stud was removed.
2. Place 4 washers and a nut on the stud.
3. Tighten until the stud is fully seated in the hub/rotor.
4. Install the hub/rotor.
5. Adjust the wheel bearings.
6. Install the brake caliper.
7. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
8. Remove the safety stands.
9. Lower the vehicle.
