Engine Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel lower extension. Refer toIP Extension Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Extension Replacement) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
2. Remove the passenger seat from the vehicle in the 6.5L and the 8.1L diesel engines. Refer toSeat Replacement - Bucket (All Except Luxury) (Seat Replacement - Bucket (All Except Luxury))Seat Replacement - Bucket (Luxury Y91) (Seat Replacement - Bucket (Luxury RPO Y91)) in Seats.




3. Release the engine cover retaining straps.




4. Remove the engine cover from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure






Important: Ensure that the engine cover sealing strip is properly seated between the engine cover and the vehicle.


1. Install the engine cover to the vehicle.




2. Install the engine cover retaining straps.
3. Install the passenger seat to the vehicle in 6.5L and the 8.1L Diesel engines. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (All Except Luxury) (Seat Replacement - Bucket (All Except Luxury))Seat Replacement - Bucket (Luxury Y91) (Seat Replacement - Bucket (Luxury RPO Y91)) in Seats.
4. Install the instrument panel lower extension. Refer toIP Extension Replacement (Instrument Panel (IP) - Extension Replacement) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
