Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
2. Disconnect the hose (3) from the steering pump (2)
3. Disconnect the hose from the reservoir (1).





4. For vehicles with hydroboost, remove the clamps retaining the reservoir inlet hose (3) from the hydraulic brake booster (2).
5. Remove the hose from the vehicle.





6. Remove the nuts (4) retaining the reservoir (3) to the vehicle.
Remove the reservoir.

Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





1. Install the reservoir (3) to the vehicle.

- Tighten the reservoir retaining nuts to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).





2. For vehicles with hydroboost, install the hose to the vehicle.
3. Install the clamps retaining the reservoir inlet hose (3) to the hydraulic brake booster (2).





4. Connect the hose (3) to the reservoir (1).
5. Connect the hose to the steering pump (2).
6. Fill the reservoir with fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
7. Bleed the power steering system.
