Park Brake Cable Replacement- FrontRemoval Procedure
1. Install the pin into the park brake pedal.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Loosen the cable at the cable adjuster.
4. Disconnect the front cable from the rear cables.
5. Remove the release handle and the cable from the vehicle.
6. Disconnect the front cable from the lever.
7. Disconnect the front cable from the lever retainer.
8. Remove the rubber grommet by gently pulling it through the cowl.
9. Remove the front cable from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the front cable through the vehicle.
2. Install the rubber grommet by firmly pressing it into the cowl.
3. Connect the cable to the lever retainer.
4. Connect the front cable to the lever.
5. Install the release handle and the cable.
6. Connect the front cable to the rear cables.
7. Remove the pin from the park brake pedal.
8. Move the lever to the FULL up position.
9. Measure the threads on the equalizer. Adjust the threads to the following specifications:
^ Passenger/Cargo to 13 mm (0.511 inch)
^ Cutaway/Upfitters to 21 mm (0.826 inch)
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Verify that the vehicle will hold position with the brake lever depressed.
