Control Arm Bushing: Service and Repair
Upper Control Arm Bushings Replacement- Tools Required
- J 9519-E Ball Joint Remover/Installer Set
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Raise the vehicle.
Caution: Refer to Floor Jack Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.
3. Support the lower control arm with safety stands.
4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
5. Remove the upper control arm from the vehicle.
6. Using the J 9519-17 as shown remove the upper control arm bushings from the control arm.
Remove the tool.
Installation Procedure
1. Insert the new control arm bushings into the control arm.
Important: Make sure the bushings are properly seated in the control arm.
2. Using the J 9519-23 as shown install the upper control arm bushings into the control arm.
3. Remove the tool.
4. Install the upper control arm to the vehicle.
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
6. Remove the safety stands.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Check the wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications.
