TOOLS REQUIREDJ 41416 Ultrasonic Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION:
^ Refer to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Flammability Caution in Service Precautions.
^ Refer to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Fuel Pressure Relief Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Relieve the CNG fuel system pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the engine cover.
4. Remove the fuel line (6) at the low pressure lock-off solenoid fitting (5).
5. Remove the fuel line (1) from the high pressure regulator (2).
6. Remove the fuel line retainer (2) located along the transmission bellhousing (4) from the CNG fuel line (3) and the gasoline fuel line (1).
7. Remove the fuel line assembly from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Route the fuel line between the low pressure lock-off solenoid and the high pressure regulator.
CAUTION: Refer to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) O-Ring Caution in Service Precautions.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Connect the fuel line (6) at the low pressure lock-off solenoid fitting (5) using new O-rings. Lubricate the O-rings with petroleum jelly or equivalent before installation.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel line to 37 N.m (27 lb ft).
3. Connect the fuel line (1) at the high pressure regulator (2) fitting using new O-rings. Lubricate the O-rings with petroleum jelly or equivalent prior to installation.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel line to 37 N.m (27 lb ft).
4. Install the fuel line retainer (2) between the CNG fuel line (3) and the lower gasoline fuel line (1).
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Prime the CNG fuel system by cycling the ignition ON and OFF several times.
