Technical - Front Door Speaker Rattle/Vibration
(Reposition Window Regulator Handle Plate (Escutcheon))

1999-2001 Chevrolet Tracker with Manual Windows

Condition

Some customers may comment about front door speaker rattle/vibration.

Cause

The plate (escutcheon) between the manual window regulator handle and the door trim panel may be loose enough to be vibrated by the sound from the speaker.

Correction

Remove the manual window regulator handle, flip the plate (escutcheon) over and reinstall the handle. This new position of the plate (escutcheon) results in a tighter gap between the handle and the door trim panel, so it will not vibrate from the speaker. Refer to the Window Regulator Handle Replacement procedure in the Doors sub-section of the Service Manual.
