Transfer Case Mount Replacement
Removal Procedure1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Support the transfer case and the transmission with a suitable hydraulic jack.
3. Remove the 2 bolts (1).
4. Separate the transfer case skid plate from the transfer case crossmember.
5. Remove the 10 bolts (3) and the transfer case crossmember from the undercarriage.
6. Remove the 2 bolt and the transfer case rear mount (2) from the transfer case.
7. Inspect the transfer case rear mount for excessive wear or damage. Replace as necessary.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the transfer case rear mount to the transfer case.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Service Precautions.
2. Secure the transfer case rear mount with the 2 bolts.
^ Tighten the transfer case rear mount bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the transfer case crossmember (1) to the undercarriage.
4. Secure the transfer case crossmember with the 10 bolts.
^ Tighten the transfer case crossmember bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the transfer case skid plate to the transfer case crossmember.
6. Secure the transfer case skid plate with 2 bolts.
^ Tighten the transfer case skid plate bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
7. Remove the hydraulic transmission jack.
8. Lower the vehicle.
