Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Adjustments





1. Inspect the accelerator cable for proper adjustment. Refer to Accelerator Control Cable Replacement.
2. Inspect the TV cable locknut (3) and the adjusting nut.
3. Ensure that both ends are loose and not in contact with the TV cable bracket at the throttle body.
4. Adjust the TV cable with the assistance of a second technician.
5. Place the ignition switch in the LOCK position.
6. Fully depress and hold the accelerator pedal.
7. Measure the distance between the tip end of the TV cable adjustment mark and the end of the boot. The distance must be 0.8 - 1.5 mm (0.031 - 0.059 inch).
8. Pull the TV cable until the TV cable is tight.
9. Tighten the TV cable locknut (3).
10. Measure the distance between the tip end of the TV cable adjustment mark and the end of the boot. Ensure that the distance did not change during the tightening of the locknut.
