21. Valve Body Removal

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the following components from the valve body:
^ The bolt
^ The detent spring (2)
^ The plate (1)
^ The manual valve (3)





2. Remove the 9 upper valve body bolts.





3. Remove the 6 lower valve body bolts.

Important: Press the separator plate and the gasket against the lower valve body in order to prevent the check balls and the springs from failing out of the lower valve body.

4. Remove the rear upper valve body check balls from the lower valve body.





5. Remove the 5 valve body bolts from the upper valve body (1) and remove the check balls.





6. Inspect the front upper valve body for the proper locations of the valves (1,3) and the retaining clip.





7. Inspect the rear upper valve body (1) for the proper locations of the check balls (2).





8. Inspect the lower valve body (1) for the proper locations of the following components:
^ The bypass valve (3)
^ The check balls (6)
^ The primary regulator valve sleeve retainer (5)
