Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair
RECEIVER DEHYDRATOR REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the cap from the bottom of the receiver.
4. Remove the filter from the receiver.
5. Remove the dryer.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Add 40 ml (1.3 ft oz) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system when installing a new condenser dryer.
1. Install the dryer with the double layer portion facing the bottom of the receiver.
2. Install the filter to the receiver.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the cap to the receiver.
Tighten
Tighten the receiver cap to 13 N.m (10 lb ft).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
6. Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. Leak Testing
