16. Cylinder Head Removal

Notice: In order to prevent warpage of the cylinder head, follow the sequence shown whenever removing or installing the head.





1. Remove the 11 cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown.
2. Remove the cylinder head from the cylinder block.





3. Remove the cylinder head gasket (1).
4. Remove the coolant outlet pipe from the cylinder head.
5. Remove the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor and housing from the rear end of the cylinder head.
6. Remove the fuel injector rail from the cylinder head.
