33. Overdrive Clutch Drum, Overdrive Case Installation

^ Tools Required
- J 26900-5 Vernier Caliper
- J 36850 Transjel(TM) Transmission Assembly Lubricant

1. Apply J 36850 to the thrust rear race.
2. Install the race to the rear of the overdrive case.





3. Install the overdrive case to the transmission case, aligning the cutouts on each case (2)(3).
4. Apply J 36850 to the thrust planetary rear washer.





5. Install the washer to the overdrive planetary gear (1).
6. Apply J 36850 to the thrust planetary ring front race (2).
7. Install the race to the planetary ring gear.
8. Install the overdrive clutch/planetary gear into the overdrive case.





9. Measure the height difference between the overdrive case (2) and the overdrive clutch drum (1) using the J 26900-5.
^ Forward clutch input shaft-to-transmission case height difference (standard): 2.0 mm (0.078 inch)
Remove and reinstall if less than the specification.
