65. Engine Flywheel Installation
^ Tools Required- J35271 Flywheel Holder
1. Align the flywheel-to-engine marks and install the flywheel (3) to the crankshaft (1).
Notice: Do not apply an excessive amount of sealant to the flywheel retaining bolt threads. Applying too much sealant will result in the sealant overflowing the bolt seat. This could cause the bolt to break loose during vehicle operation.
2. Apply GM P/N 12345493, or the equivalent, to the flywheel retaining bolt threads.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the flywheel retaining bolts to the crankshaft. Use the J35271 to lock the flywheel.
^ Cross tighten the 8 flywheel retaining bolts to 70 Nm (51 ft. lbs.).
