Door Locks: Description and Operation

Rear Side Door Lock Assembly:

The rear side door lock assembly on the four-door models incorporates a rear door child security lock. The child security locks (3) are engaged and disengaged with a switch built into the lock assembly (2). With the switch engaged, only the outside handle opens the rear side door. Service the rear door child security locks (3) as a part of the lock assembly (2), not separately.

The door locks, lock cylinders and hinges require periodic lubrication. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication for lubrication intervals and types of lubricants.
