Wheel Stud Replacement

- J6627-A Wheel Stud Remover
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the rear tires and wheels assembly.
3. Remove the rear brake drums or brake rotors. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement in Brakes and Traction Control or Brake Pads Replacement-Rear in Brakes and Traction Control.
4. Use the J6627-A in order to remove the stud from the axle flange.
Installation Procedure
1. Start the new stud into the axle flange hole by pressing firmly with your hand.
2. Install three flat washers (1) to the wheel stud (3).
3. Install a lug nut (2) with the flat surface to the washers.
4. Tighten the lug nut until the stud head is fully seated in the flange.
5. Remove the lug nut (2) and the washers (1) from the wheel stud (3).
6. Install the rear brake drums or brake rotors. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement in Brakes and Traction Control or Brake Pads Replacement-Rear in Brakes and Traction Control.
7. Install the rear tires and wheels assembly.
8. Lower the vehicle.
