Automatic Level Control Sensor and Bracket Replacement
Removal ProcedureNotice: When you are servicing the automatic level control sensor link, ensure that the sensor link and the sensor arm are not damaged. Ensure the sensor arm and the sensor link are properly oriented. Improper orientation of the sensor arm and the sensor link may cause damage to the automatic level control system or the vehicle.
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Disconnect the automatic level control sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the automatic level control sensor link from the rear differential bracket ball stud.
4. Remove the automatic level control sensor bracket assembly to the rear shock and spare tire crossmember retaining bolts.
5. Remove the automatic level control sensor bracket assembly from the vehicle.
6. Remove automatic level control sensor link from the automatic level control sensor arm ball stud.
7. Remove automatic level control sensor to the bracket bolts.
8. Remove automatic level control sensor from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
Notice: When you are servicing the automatic level control sensor link, ensure that the sensor link and the sensor arm are not damaged. Ensure the sensor arm and the sensor link are properly oriented. Improper orientation of the sensor arm and the sensor link may cause damage to the automatic level control system or the vehicle.
1. Install the automatic level control sensor to the automatic level control sensor bracket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the automatic level control sensor to the automatic level control sensor bracket bolts.
- Tighten the automatic level control sensor to the automatic level control sensor bracket bolts to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).
3. Install the automatic level control sensor link to the automatic level control sensor arm ball stud.
4. Install the automatic level control sensor bracket assembly to the vehicle.
5. Install the automatic level control sensor bracket assembly to the rear shock and spare tire crossmembers bolts.
- Tighten the automatic level control sensor bracket to the rear shock and spare tire crossmember bolts to 12 Nm (110 inch lbs.).
6. Install the automatic level control sensor link to the rear differential bracket ball stud.
7. Connect the automatic level control sensor electrical connector.
8. Lower the vehicle.
