Automatic Level Control Solenoid Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the plastic cap from the automatic level control solenoid valve.
2. Remove the retaining nut and washer from the automatic level control solenoid valve.
3. Remove the body side trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Body Side (Standard Cab Pickup) or Trim Panel Replacement - Body Side (Extended Cab Pickup) or Trim Panel Replacement - Body Side (2-Door Utility) or Trim Panel Replacement - Body Side (4-Door Utility) in Interior Trim.





4. Disconnect the air lines from the automatic level control solenoid valve.





5. Loosen the automatic level control solenoid valve to the body side trim panel mounting nut.
6. Remove the automatic level control solenoid valve from the body side trim panel.





7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the automatic level control solenoid valve.

Installation Procedure





1. Connect the electrical connector to the automatic level control solenoid valve.
2. Install the automatic level control solenoid valve to the body side trim panel.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





3. Tighten the automatic level control solenoid valve to the body side trim panel mounting nut.
^ Tighten the automatic level control solenoid valve to body side trim panel mounting nut to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).





4. Connect the air lines to the automatic level control solenoid valve.
5. Install the body side trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Body Side (Standard Cab Pickup) or Trim Panel Replacement - Body Side (Extended Cab Pickup) or Trim Panel Replacement - Body Side (2-Door Utility) or Trim Panel Replacement - Body Side (4-Door Utility) in Interior Trim.





6. Install the automatic level control solenoid valve washer and retaining nut at automatic level control solenoid valve.
^ Tighten the automatic level control solenoid valve retaining nut to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.).
7. Install the plastic cap to the automatic level control solenoid valve.
