Turn Signal Cancel Cam & Upper Bearing Inner Race - Disassemble

- J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor

Important: Let the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil hang freely after removal.






1. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) or Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift).
2. Compress the shaft lock shield assembly (2) using J 23653-SIR.
3. Remove the bearing retainer (1) from the steering shaft assembly.
4. Discard the bearing retainer (1).
5. Remove J 23653-SIR from the steering shaft assembly.





6. Remove the following parts from the steering shaft assembly:
6.1. The shaft lock shield assembly (5).
6.2. The turn signal cancel cam assembly (4).
6.3. The upper bearing spring (3).
6.4. The upper bearing inner race seat (2).
6.5. The inner race (1).
