Power Steering Pump Replacement
Removal Procedure1. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Cooling System.
2. Place a drain pan below the pump.
3. Remove the power steering hoses from the pump.
4. Cap the power steering hoses.
5. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine.
6. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement.
7. Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connection.
8. Remove the A/C compressor mounting bolts.
9. Remove the A/C compressor rear bracket mounting bolts.
10. Remove the A/C compressor from the brackets and set aside.
11. Remove the power steering pump front mounting bolts.
12. Remove the power steering pump rear mounting bracket nuts from the engine studs.
13. Remove the power steering pump rear mounting bracket bolt.
14. Remove the power steering pump.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering pump.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the power steering pump front mounting bolts.
- Tighten the power steering pump front mounting bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the power steering pump rear mounting bracket bolt.
4. Install the power steering pump rear mounting bracket nuts to the engine studs.
- Tighten the power steering pump rear mounting bracket bolt and nuts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the A/C compressor to the accessory bracket.
6. Install the A/C compressor rear bracket mounting bolts.
- Tighten the A/C compressor rear bracket mounting bolts to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the A/C compressor mounting bolts.
- Tighten the A/C compressor mounting bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
8. Connect the A/C compressor electrical connection.
9. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement
10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine.
11. Install the power steering pump hoses.
12. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Cooling System.
13. Fill the power steering system.
14. Bleed the system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System.
15. Inspect the hoses for clearance away from the frame and other components.
