Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Lift the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Remove right front tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove the purge valve electrical connector.




4. Remove the hoses to the purge valve.




5. Remove the purge valve nut and the purge valve mounting bracket.
6. Remove the purge valve from the purge valve mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install purge valve on to the purge valve mounting bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the purge valve mounting bracket and the attaching nut.

Tighten
Tighten the purge valve mounting bracket attaching nut to 8 N.m (53-88 lb in).




3. Slide the purge valve bracket on to the mounting stud.

Tighten
Tighten the purge valve mounting nut to 8 N.m (71 lb In).




4. Install the hoses to the purge valve.




5. Install the valve electrical connector.
6. Reinstall right front wheel and tire assembly.
7. Lower vehicle.
