Front Floor Console Replacement - Full Length Auto Trans



FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE REPLACEMENT (FULL LENGTH FOR AUTO TRANS)

Removal Procedure






1. Remove the shift handle retaining clip at the front of the handle.

2. Remove the shift handle from the shift lever.






3. Open the console lid.

4. Remove the console compartment inserts.






5. Remove the transmission select switch (if equipped).






6. Remove the nuts that retain the rear of the console.

7. Remove the cup holder insert.

8. Remove the screws that retain the front of the console to the vehicle.

9. Remove the console from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure






1. Install the console to the vehicle.

NOTICE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring or fasteners requiring the use of the thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the screws that retain the front of the console.

3. Tighten the screws to 7 Nm (63 lb.in).

4. Install the cup holder insert.

5. Install the nuts that retain the rear of the console.

6. Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb.in).






7. Install the transmission select switch (if equipped)






8. Install the console compartment insert.

9. Install the console compartment insert screws.

10. Tighten the nuts to 1.9 Nm (17 lb.in).






11. Install the shift handle to the shift lever.

12. Install the shift handle retaining clip at the front of the handle.
