^ Tools Required- J9746-02 Wheel Bearing Remover
Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment. Notice: Support the caliper with a piece of wire to prevent damage to the brake line.
3. Remove the front brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement in Brakes and Traction Control.
4. Remove the hub/rotor. Refer to Wheel Hub, Bearing, and Seal Replacement.
5. Remove the wheel stud using a press.
^ Support the hub/rotor using the J9746-02 and the press bars.
^ Do not damage the wheel mounting surface on the hub/rotor flange.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the wheel hub stud in the rotor where the old stud was removed.
2. Place four washers and a nut on the stud.
3. Tighten until the stud is fully seated in the hub/rotor.
4. Install the hub/rotor. Refer to Wheel Hub, Bearing, and Seal Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
5. Adjust the wheel bearings. Refer to Wheel Bearing Adjustment.
6. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement in Brakes and Traction Control.
7. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
8. Remove the safety stands.
9. Lower the vehicle.
