Tire Hoist and Shaft Replacement (Passenger and Cargo)

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the spare tire from the hoist. Refer to Spare Tire Replacement (Passenger and Cargo) or Spare Tire Replacement (Cutaway) in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.





2. Remove the retaining bolt from the hoist.





3. Remove the pin and the retainer clip from the hoist and the shaft.





4. Remove the spare tire shaft and guide from the vehicle.





5. Remove the hoist from the crossmember.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the hoist to the crossmember.





2. Install the spare tire shaft and guide to the vehicle.





3. Install the pin and the retainer clip to the hoist and the shaft.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





4. Install the retaining bolt to the hoist.
Tighten the bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the spare tire to the hoist. Refer to Spare Tire Replacement (Passenger and Cargo) or Spare Tire Replacement (Cutaway) in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
