Drive Belt: Service and Repair


Removal Procedure





1. In order to gain access to the drive belt, remove the engine coolant reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement.
2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.





3. Install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the drive belt tensioner arm and rotate the drive belt tensioner arm counterclockwise.
4. Remove the drive belt.
5. Slowly release the tension on the drive belt tensioner arm.


Installation Procedure





1. Route the drive belt over all the pulleys except the drive belt tensioner arm.





2. Observe drive belt routing for vehicles with air conditioning.





3. Install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the drive belt tensioner arm and rotate the drive belt tensioner arm counterclockwise.
4. Install the drive belt over the drive belt tensioner arm pulley.
5. Slowly release the tension on the drive belt tensioner arm.
6. Confirm that the drive belt is properly routed.
7. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
8. Install the engine coolant reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement.
