Lights On Chime
The lamps-on warning alarm is presented if the headlights or the park lights remain on when the ignition switch is turned off. The alarm remains present until the lights are turned off or the ignition switch is placed in the RUN or START positions. With the headlamps or park lights on, voltage is sensed by the multifunction alarm module through the following components:
^ PRK LPS fuse 9
^ CKT240 (ORN)
^ the headlamp switch
^ the IP dimmer switch
^ CKT 44 (DK GRN)
^ ILLUM fuse 14
^ CKT 8 (GRAY)
With the IP dimmer switch adjusted for very dim illumination, the voltage sensed at the multifunction alarm module may be too small to set the logic and enable the alarm. Testing should be done with the IP dimmer switch adjusted for maximum illumination.
With the ignition switch in the RUN or START positions, voltage is sensed by the multifunction alarm module from GAUGES fuse 4 through CKT 39 (PNK). When this voltage is not present, but voltage from the IP dimmer switch is present, the alarm conditions are met.
