Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Loosen the exhaust pipe clamp that retains the tail pipe to the rear of the muffler.





3. Remove the hanger from the exhaust system as required.
4. Remove the tailpipe from the vehicle.


Installation Procedure





1. Install the tailpipe to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the exhaust pipe clamp that retains the tailpipe to the rear of the muffler.
^ Tighten the exhaust pipe clamp that retains the tailpipe to the rear of the muffler to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
3. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
