Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement (Left)

- J 41240 Fan Clutch Remover and Installer
Removal Procedure
1. Use J 41240 to remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Cooling System.
2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
Important: Do not evacuate the air conditioning system.
3. Remove the mounting bolts for the air conditioning compressor, if equipped. Refer to Compressor Replacement in Heating and Air Conditioning.
4. Move the air conditioning compressor aside and support.
5. Remove the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement.
6. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement (Gasoline) or Power Steering Pulley Replacement (Diesel) in Steering and Suspension.
7. Remove the three bolts holding the power steering pump to the accessory mounting bracket.
8. Remove the three bolts and nut holding the power steering pump bracket to the engine.
9. Slide the power steering pump bracket off the stud and power steering pump.
Installation Procedure
1. Slide the power steering pump bracket on the stud and the power steering pump.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the three bolts and the nut.
^ Tighten the bolts and nut to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the three bolts for the power steering pump.
^ Tighten the bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pulley Replacement (Gasoline) or Power Steering Pulley Replacement (Diesel) in Steering and Suspension.
5. Install the air conditioning compressor, if equipped. Refer to Compressor Replacement in Heating and Air Conditioning.
6. Install the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement.
7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
8. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Cooling System.
