Hood Latch Release Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the hood.




2. Remove the cable (1) from the hood latch (3).




3. Remove the cable (1) from the retainer on the radiator support.
4. Push the cable (1) and the grommet into the cab from the engine compartment.
5. Remove the left side hinge pillar trim panel from the body. Refer to Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar () in Interior Trim.
6. Remove the screws retaining the cable handle (3) to the body.
7. Remove the handle (3) from the hinge pillar.
8. Remove the cable (1) from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the cable (1) to the vehicle.




2. Route the cable (1) from the cabin into the engine compartment.
3. Install the cable grommet into the front of dash.
4. Install the cable handle (3) to the hinge pillar.
5. Install the screws to the hood release handle (3) to the pillar.
6. Install the left side hinge pillar trim panel to the body. Refer to Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar () in Interior Trim.
7. Install the cable (1) to the retainer on the radiator support.
8. Install the cable (1) to the hood latch.
9. Close the hood.
10. Inspect the hood release cable for proper operation.
