Front Side Door Lock Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: The door ajar switch is contained within the lock. Therefore, removal of the lock will include the removal of the door ajar switch.



1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair
3. Remove the rear run channel from the door. Refer to Window Channel Replacement (Door Window Channel) .




4. Remove the lock rods from the lock.
5. Remove the electrical connectors from the lock (1).
6. Remove the lock rod guide from the door lock (1).
7. Remove the bolts that retain the lock (1) to the door.
8. Remove the lock (1) from the door.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the lock (1) to the door.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts that retain the lock (1) to the door.

Tighten the retaining bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Install the lock rod guide to the door lock (1).
4. Install the electrical connectors to the lock (1).
5. Install the lock rods to the lock (1).
6. Install the rear run channel to the door. Refer to Window Channel Replacement (Door Window Channel) .
7. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair
8. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
