Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement (Left)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
2. Remove the PCV valve and hose assembly from the valve rocker arm cover and the intake manifold.





3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) gauge sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the ECT gauge sensor connector from the bracket.
5. Remove the spark plug wires for the left side of the engine from the distributor cap. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement.
6. Remove the rear spark plug wire harness retainer from the EGR valve inlet pipe bracket.
7. Remove the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal (Left).
8. Clean all sealing surfaces and the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Clean and Inspect.


Installation Procedure





1. Install the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation (Left).
2. Connect the spark plug wires to the distributor cap. Refer to Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement.
3. Install the rear spark plug wire harness retainer to the EGR valve inlet pipe bracket.
4. Install the ECT gauge sensor electrical connector to the bracket.
5. Connect the ECT gauge sensor electrical connector.





6. Install the PCV valve and hose assembly in-the valve rocker arm cover and to the intake manifold.
7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
