53. Engine Front Cover Clean and Inspect

Cleaning Procedure
1. Remove any sealant from the engine front cover.
2. Clean out debris from the bolt holes.
3. Clean the engine front cover in solvent.

Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

4. Dry the engine front cover with compressed air.


Inspection Procedure
1. Inspect the engine front cover for the following:
^ Excessive scratches or gouging of the gasket sealing surfaces
^ Damaged threaded bolt holes
^ Damaged crankshaft oil seal mounting bore
^ Damaged crankshaft position sensor mounting hole
2. Repair or replace the engine front cover as necessary.
