Brake Rotor Thickness Variation Measurement

^ Tools Required
- J 26900-1 Outside Micrometer

Check thickness variation by measuring the thickness of the rotor at four or more points around the rotor's circumference (1) with J 26900-1. Make all measurements at the same distance in from the edge of the rotor.

The maximum rotor thickness variation is 0.013 mm (0.0005 inch). A rotor that varies more than specifications can cause pedal pulsation and/or front end vibration during brake applications. Replace or refinish any rotor that does not meet these specifications.
