Clutch Slave Cylinder: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Drain the hydraulic system.
3. Remove the clutch fluid hose bolt and the washer from the clutch fluid hose.
4. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder bolts (1) from the clutch actuator cylinder.
5. Remove the clutch actuator cylinder (1) from the transmission.
Installation Procedure
1. Before installing the clutch actuator cylinder to the transmission apply a small amount of grease to the tip of the clutch actuator cylinder. Use lubricant GM P/N 1051344, or equivalent.
2. Install the clutch actuator cylinder to the transmission.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the clutch actuator cylinder bolts (1).
^ Tighten the clutch actuator cylinder bolts to 16 Nm (11.5 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the clutch actuator cylinder fluid line (2) to the clutch actuator cylinder (1).
5. Install the clutch actuator cylinder hose bolt
^ Tighten the clutch actuator cylinder line bolts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
6. Bleed the hydraulic clutch system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding.
