4. Valve Body, Accums, Solenoid Wiring Harness Removal

1. Disconnect the electrical connectors at the following components:
^ The Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid
^ The shift solenoid





2. Remove the 15 valve body bolts.





3. Perform the following steps in order to remove the valve body (1) from the transmission case:
3.1. Slowly lift the valve body.
3.2. Disconnect the TV cable (3) from the TV cable cam (2).
3.3. Remove the valve body from the transmission case.
4. Remove the solenoid wiring harness retaining bolt from the transmission case.
5. Remove the solenoid wiring harness.





6. Perform the following steps in order to remove the second brake, direct clutch, and forward clutch accumulators:
^ Cover the accumulators with a clean cloth.
^ Slowly apply low compressed air to the fluid passages until the accumulators are forced out of the case bores.
7. Inspect the following accumulator components for damage:
^ The pistons (1)
^ The springs (1)
^ The piston seals
^ The case bores
8. Remove the TV cable from the transmission case using a 10 mm nut driver.
