Suspension Component Inspection - Front Suspension

STABILIZER SHAFT AND INSULATOR INSPECTION





Inspect the stabilizer shaft for damage or deformation, Replace a defective stabilizer shaft. Inspect the insulator for damage, wear, or deterioration. Replace a defective insulator.

STRUT AND COIL SPRING INSPECTION
1. Inspect the strut for oil leakage.





2. Inspect the strut for damage or for deformation.
3. Inspect the strut mount for wear, cracks, or deformation.
4. Inspect the strut boot for damage or cracks.





5. Inspect the spring seat for cracks or for deformation.





6. Inspect the bump stopper for deterioration.
7. Replace any defective parts.

STEERING KNUCKLE INSPECTION
Inspect for cracks, deformation, or damage.

CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT INSPECTION





1. Test for smoothness of rotation.
2. Inspect the ball stud for damage.
3. Inspect the dust cover for damage.
4. Replace any defective parts.

CONTROL ARM BUSHING INSPECTION





Inspect for damage, wear, or deterioration.

WHEEL INSPECTION
1. Inspect each wheel for dents, disortion, and cracks. Replace a badly damaged disc.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Inspect the wheel nuts for tightness.
- If necessary, retighten the wheel nuts to 95 Nm (69 ft. lbs.).
