Stabilizer Link: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the stabilizer shaft link nuts (1), washers (2,10), and bushings (3,11).
3. Remove the stabilizer shaft link nut (8) and the stabilizer shaft link (9) from the stabilizer shaft (5).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Do NOT tighten the nuts and bolts completely. The weight of the vehicle must be on the wheels and tires before tightening the nuts and bolts.





1. Install the stabilizer shaft link (9) to the stabilizer shaft (5). Secure with the nut (8). Do not tighten the nut.
2. Install the stabilizer shaft link (9) to the control arm (4) using stabilizer shaft link bushings (3,11), washers (2,10) and nuts (1). Do not tighten the nuts.
3. Lower the vehicle.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Ensure that the stabilizer is centered, side-to-side. Verify that the stabilizer shaft links are set at a neutral position, as seen from above.
^ Tighten the stabilizer shaft link nuts (1) to 29 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the stabilizer shaft link nuts (8) to 50 Nm (36.5 ft. lbs.).
