Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
EVAP Canister Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Release the four air cleaner cover retaining clips (2).
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission ([1][2]EVAP) system vent hose from the air cleaner cover.
3. Lift the air cleaner cover and swing away from the EVAP canister.
4. Disconnect the three [1][2]EVAP hoses (1) from the EVAP canister.
5. Remove the EVAP canister (2) from the canister bracket in the engine compartment.
6. Inspect the [1][2]EVAP purge system for carbon particle contamination before replacing the EVAP canister. Refer to EVAP System Cleaning.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the EVAP canister (2) to the canister bracket in the engine compartment.
2. Connect the three [1][2]EVAP hoses (1) to the EVAP canister.
3. Install the air cleaner cover onto the air cleaner assembly.
4. Attach the four air cleaner cover retaining clips (2).
5. Connect the EVAP system vent hose to the air cleaner cover.
