Brake Shoe Inspection

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: Inspect the brake shoes whenever you inspect for excessive pedal travel.





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the rubber plug from the brake back plate.
3. Through the hole of the back plate, visually inspect for thickness of the brake shoe lining (2).

Measurement
The brake shoe lining should be 1.0-10.0 mm (0.04-0.39 inch).

4. If the lining thickness is less than the specified value, replace with new brake shoes.
