Spare Tire: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the spare tire from the tire carrier.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the hoist mountings nuts.
4. Remove the hoist mountings bolts.
5. Remove the pin and the retainer.
6. Remove the hoist from the rear crossmember.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the hoist to the rear crossmember. Align the hoist with the rear crossover and the shaft.
2. Install the pin and the retainer.
3. Install the hoist mountings bolts.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the hoist mountings nuts.
- Tighten the hoist mountings nuts to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the spare tire to the carrier.
