Fan Shroud: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the air inlet duct (2.2L). Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement in Powertrain Management.
2. Remove the upper fan shroud screws.





3. Disconnect the coolant recovery reservoir hose from the lower fan shroud.
4. Remove the upper fan shroud.





5. Lift the lower fan shroud just enough to disengage the locating tabs from the radiator.
6. Remove the radiator from the vehicle. Refer to Radiator Replacement.
7. Remove the lower fan shroud from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement.
2. Place the lower fan shroud in the vehicle.
2.1. Position the lower fan shroud against the radiator,
2.2. Engage the locating tabs by pushing down.





3. Install the upper fan shroud to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the upper fan shroud attaching screws.
^ Tighten the screws to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).





5. Connect the coolant recovery reservoir hose to the lower fan shroud.
6. Install the air inlet duct (2.2L). Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement in Powertrain Management.
